Rotary International Polio Plus Program: In 1985, Rotary International created "Polio Plus" - a program to immunize all the world's children against Polio. To date, Rotary has contributed more than $1 Billion and countless volunteer hours to the protection of more than two billion children in 122 countries. Over the last 2 years Rotary raised an additional $200 million towards a $355 million challenge grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The efforts are providing much needed polio vaccine, operational support, medical personnel, laboratory equipment and educational materials for health workers and parents. In addition, Rotary has played an major role in decisions by donor governments to contribute over $6 Billion to the effort. Rotary volunteers work in cooperation with National Health ministries, WHO, UNICEF, and the US Centers for Disease Control. Currently only 4 countries remain to be cleared of the dread disease. With India being cleared of Polio in March 2012, the end of Polio is coming ever nearer...

Rotary/Shelterbox USA  This is an emergency support program for Disaster Victims. Shelter boxes are designed to be "instant Support" equipment for a family who have lost everything, from tent to supplies. The box we co-sponsored with UCI Rotaract last year was recently deployed to Madagascar after the cyclone there.
